1. Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park

Around 12 miles to Old Naples’ north is one of Naples’ best beaches. Found on 166 acres, this beach has some great facilities like bathrooms, lots of parking, opportunities to rent beach equipment, and picnic spots and food stands. The beach is great for swimming and a great place for people who love to look for shells. You also can go snorkeling there (equipment can be rented there) at an offshore reef.

2. Naples Pier

This is found at 12th Avenue South’s west end and it’s a huge boardwalk that you don’t want to miss. It stretches 1,000 feet out into the gulf and its known for gorgeous panoramic views, particularly at sunset. If you are there during July, it’s a great place to view Naples fireworks for the 4th.

In addition, it’s a great spot if you love to fish because it gives you lots of space to cast out your line and doesn’t require that you have license. There are cleaning stations all over the pier and you can also buy bait halfway along the pier.

3. Naples Botanical Garden

Found a mere four miles to the south of the area that is known as downtown Naples, this attract4ion offers visitors who love nature access to many flora varieties. This nature sanctuary is found on 170 acres and it showcases over 1,000 plant species. If you want to learn more about the plants, there are tours daily at 11 from November – April along with a variety of children’s activities that are educational in the children’s garden. It’s a good idea to plan to spend at least several hours here.

4. Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

People who love nature are going to find a lot of things that they will like here. Found 30 miles to the northeast of Naples, this marshland to trees that are 600 years old, alligators, otters, and a wide variety of gorgeous endangered birds. There is a boardwalk that is going through so that you can take a tour on your own during which you’ll see undeveloped Florida. There are naturalists that are found through the boardwalk in case you have any questions. It takes around 3 hours to walk the almost 3 mile length.

5. The Baker Museum

There are 15 galleries here and they make up one of southwest Florida’s best collections of art. The entrance gates are 14 feet tall and they’re covered with art, giving the museum a very dramatic entrance. The museum’s collection includes some really impressive works of American modern art, including some great pieces by artist Dale Chihuly.
